Karate Rob Relaunched

Sun October 31st 2004 @ 2:29AM - James - Tom Welling - 0 Comments

As planned, the new-look Karate Rob has now been launched, complete with more detailed information about the character Rob Meltzer, a more intuitive application form, and video clips that are now in MOV format. As if I haven't beaten everyone over the head with this on a number of occasions already, the site is a fanlisting for Rob Meltzer, the karate teacher whom Tom guest starred as in season two of CBS' Judging Amy; if you're a fan of the character and would like to have your name listed alongside other fans, just read the rules and submit the application form. It's that simple!

Lack of Updates

Fri October 29th 2004 @ 3:33AM - James - Tom Welling - 0 Comments

I apologise for the lack of updates to the site over the last few weeks, and to those of you who have sent in art, affiliate requests, or anything else that I'm taking a long time to get around to adding. I'm working on a major overhaul of the site – the design will remain the same – that will ease maintenance and hopefully speed up certain aspects of the site; however, as is always the case, it's taking longer than I'd hoped.

In the next few days I will also be relaunching Karate Rob with a new design and other slight improvements, so if you're fan of Tom's character from Judging Amy you may want to look out for that. In addition, if you haven't already added your name to the Karate Rob fanlisting, now would be a great time to do so!

Hopefully there will be more news to report soon.

Once again with special thanks to Ricky and Titan Magazines, I have another selection of quotes from interviews featured in Smallville Magazine - this time from the second issue which is on sale now.

This issue of the magazine features in-depth interviews with Erica Durance, Michael Rosenbaum, Annette O'Toole, John Schneider, Jensen Ackles, and Emmanuelle Vaugier; the excerpts from those interviews make this issue look like it will be a great read!

So what are you waiting for? Read more interview excerpts!

ISP Connection Trouble

Sun October 17th 2004 @ 1:47PM - James - Tom Welling - 0 Comments

I've been having problems with my internet connection for the past three days, and right now my ISP can't tell me when the problem will be solved - my connection is intermittent, and ironically – or perhaps I should say luckily – of the two or three websites that i'm still able to access, this is one.

I'm unable to access email or check up on any news, so the site may not be updated for a few days unless the connection problems are fixed quickly.

New Locker Poster & Update on The View

Wed October 13th 2004 @ 5:32PM - James - Tom Welling - 0 Comments

The WB has updated their downloads page with yet another new PDF poster, this time featuring Tom Welling, Kristin Kreuk, and Michael Rosenbaum. As always, you may need to install a copy of Adobe Reader before you can view it; alternatively, if you are unable to install Adobe Reader, or if you have problems with the PDF for any reason, you can download a high quality JPG copy of the poster from TomWelling.org.

In other news, Tom didn't appear on The View on Monday after all, as I had reported may be the case. However with hindsight, and in light of Christopher Reeve's passing at the weekend, this may have been for the best.

Superman Star Christopher Reeve Passes Away

Mon October 11th 2004 @ 11:38AM - James - Tom Welling - 0 Comments

Best-known for his performance as Superman in four movies throughout the 1970's and 80's, Christopher Reeve, who passed away on Sunday at the age of 52, had in recent years become known to a new generation of Superman fans through his work on Smallville, as Dr. Virgil Swann.

A vocal advocate of research into paralysis following his tragic horse-riding accident in 1995, Christopher had always maintained that one day he and others like him would be able to walk again. Sadly he didn't live to see that dream come to fruition, however his work and spirit will continue to live on through the efforts of the Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation; if you wish to make a donation to the foundation in honour of Christopher's life and work, you can find details of how to do so on the CRPF website.

Tom Not Appearing on The View?

Fri October 8th 2004 @ 8:37AM - James - Tom Welling - 0 Comments

I received a slightly unexpected email from Laura a few hours ago, pointing me to the TV Guide listing for Monday's edition of The View.

Where only two days ago Tom's name was included on the scheduled guests list, his name is now noticeably absent. Likewise he is not listed on The View's official schedule for next week.

I don't have any definitive word on this at the moment, however it seems that Tom may not be appearing on the show after all; however as this is unconfirmed, you should probably still watch or record the show unless I get a definite answer by Monday - just in case TV Guide got it wrong.

If you have any definite information about this – or if you notice that TV Guide or The View change their listings again – please don't hesitate to let me know.

Tom Interviewed on TEENick

Mon October 4th 2004 @ 3:35PM - James - Tom Welling - 0 Comments

Last night, on Nickelodeon's TEENick magazine show, the cast of Smallville were interviewed on the set of the this week's upcoming episode, 'Facade'.

Unfortunately I didn't find out about the interview until it was too late to give advance warning, however I did have just enough time to grovel and beg Tigress35 to pop a tape in the video recorder!

If you'd like to find out what Tom's most embarrassing moment has been on the set of Smallville, just how boring his car CD collection is, and much more besides, then what are you waiting for? Download the video of Tom on TEENick!

You'll require Quicktime Player to view the video, and afterwards don't forget to pay a visit to Tigress35's website, Tig-TV.com.
