Last night, Tom was featured on E! News Live in a clip from the CW Upfronts on May 18th. The segment was about TV stars who relax over the summer hiatus by letting their hair down and pretty much turning into a yeti; of course Tom's one yeti that I wouldn't mind bumping into, but still.

Kristin Veitch interviewed a number of celebs in addition to Tom, including his Smallville co-star Michael Rosenbaum. After being told by Kristin that he looked "very sexy", Tom had this to say when asked about his new look:

"A lot of people on Smallville are responsible for my look, so as you can tell, I was responsible today."

It's rather strange that the first website to upload a decent clip from last Thursday's CW Network Upfronts would be wwe.com, but there it is. Colour me shocked! The video includes a few nice shots of Tom, as well as interviews with Erica Durance, Annette O'Toole and Jensen Ackles. Where's the interview with Tom?!? I've also unstreamed the video, and you can download that right here.

I'd like to say that I was sent the link to this video, but alas, I occasionally watch the men in the little wrestling tights ...

I was planning on taking a short break from the site a couple of weeks ago, however Tom's slightly unexpected appearance at the Upfronts disrupted my plans. So for the next couple of weeks I'm going to be taking it easy, although I'll still post anything that seems important. You should also keep checking the media gallery, since I usually add a few pictures on most days.

The time has almost come for Tom's fans in the USA to enjoy Cheaper By The Dozen 2 on DVD! In two days time, on Tuesday, May 23rd, the region 1 set will finally be hitting shelves, and Fox has unveiled a brand new website to help celebrate the DVD's launch.

Extras on the region 1 release are the same as those on the region 2 DVD, and include:

• Audio Commentary by Director Adam Shankman
• Fox Movie Channel presents "Casting Session"
• "Camp Chaos" and "A Comedic Trio" Featurettes

There's nothing new about Tom on the website, but it's still an enjoyable way to waste a few minutes of your day.

With big thanks to Jaida, who has kindly allowed me to post some of her personal snapshots, I've just added a few pictures of Tom signing autographs outside the Madison Square Garden Theatre on Thursday.

Jaida was lucky enough to be outside the theatre as many of the CW Network's stars arrived, and over on her LiveJournal there are photographs of Michael Rosenbaum and Chad Michael Murray, to name just two. Since these are personal fan images, they can be found in the fans gallery.

It seems like it was a teasing a go-go when Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, and Tom Welling bounded onto the stage at yesterday's Upfronts. Earlier today I posted a link from People, in which Jensen was quoted as having teased Tom about looking good in tights; and now it's Tom's turn to get his own back, as told by the The Washington Post:

"Smallville star Tom Welling, looking like he spent hours in front of the mirror [is that sarcasm?], came onstage with the two guy leads from Supernatural to entertain the several hundred ad execs with his clever banter about how the Supernatural guys always are also behind him on the golf course. Okay, that one wasn't cynical; that was just snark."

I'm not entirely sure how to respond to that. I guess I'll just laugh, and sing a quiet chorus of "Another One Bites The Dust".

I don't care how many new pictures or items of news I find or am given, I'm taking tomorrow off! With that said, I've just added 12 more images of Tom from yesterday's CW Network Upfront, along with five images from Jana of the CW Network's Upfront After-Party, which was held last night.

The jacket Tom wore to the after-party is really nice, but that striped t-shirt is interesting, to say the least. I think Tom must have climbed off a yacht ...

If you have any other pictures that I don't have yet, I'm always waiting to hear from you with my grubby hands at the ready.

That's what Jensen Ackles wants to see, according to a report about yesterday's CW Network Upfronts, from People magazine:

The crowd cheered for Supernatural stars Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki, who appeared alongside Smallville's teen Superman, Tom Welling. Ackles couldn't help but tease Welling: "I think you look amazing in tights," he joked. "Tommy Tights is all I'm saying."

It's probably sensible to infer that Jensen was talking about Tom donning the ol' blue tights, but since he never actually clarified what kind of tights he was referring to ...

In addition to the 13 images that I posted a few hours ago, Jana has just sent me another 23 pictures of Tom from yesterday's CW Network Upfront. There may still be more images to come, but for now there are already 36 of them for you to enjoy.

Although I do have to say: brown shoes?! Oh, Thomas. You were so close. But those brown shoes are just not acceptable.

It shouldn't come as much of a surprise that the CW Network has launched its new website, CWtv.com, to coincide with today's Upfront presentation. The website currently only includes a few pages about its shows, including Smallville, however that's sure to change over the coming months.

And I still hate the green.

As I'd hoped he would, Tom turned up for today's CW Upfronts at Madison Square Garden, in New York. At the presentation it was confirmed that Smallville would remain in its current timeslot, at 8:00pm on Thursdays.

I've just posted up four images of Tom from the event, and with luck there will be even more of them over the next few hours, so keep checking back.

And who knew? I actually like Tom's suit; and the shirt is acceptable; and the hair works. I'm dumbfounded. It's just a shame about the sickly green backdrop - CW, I'm very disappointed! You almost spoilt the Tom.

Today's edition of TV Guide Insider features a new interview with Al Gough, in which he answers a few questions about exactly what happened at the end of 'Vessel', and discusses how those events will lead into Smallville's recently announced sixth season.

"We always know what we want next season to be. We even know what the end of next season is. But if you were to ask me today how do we get out of what you saw last night, I couldn't tell you. ... We definitely went to an extreme place this time."

I think Clark should save himself by playing his Ocarina. That always worked for Zelda ...

Here's some good news that probably won't qualify for the "surprising" file: the CW has announced, in advance of its Upfront presentation tomorrow, that Smallville has been renewed for a sixth season. The show will help to form the backbone of the new CW network, which will combine the soon-to-be-defunct WB and UPN networks.

The planned schedule for the fall season will be announced at tomorrow's presentation, however it seems likely that Smallville will remain paired with Supernatural in its current timeslot at 8:00pm on Thursdays.

I'll be crossing my fingers for Tom to show up at the Upfronts, since I really want to critique his wardrobe again.

It looks like the WB is on a post-season picture releasing spree; in addition to the new stills from 'Oracle' that were released earlier today, there are now also some new stills from the Smallville episodes 'Mercy' and 'Vessel'.

In addition to the seven images that were released previously, there are now two more images of Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum from 'Mercy'. They're taken from the same scenes as the other images, so there's nothing hugely exciting in there. However only three images of Tom were originally released for 'Vessel', so the five new stills featuring Tom and Allison Mack are enough to make me very happy. Let's just say that the Chlark and Clortress (I made that one up because I'm bored) fans won't be disappointed!

Even though it's almost two weeks since the episode aired, and Smallville's fifth season is now well and truly over, the WB have just released a handful of new stills from the season's penultimate episode, 'Oracle'. The four new stills can be found along with the original three, over in the 'Oracle' Stills gallery.

Tom Welling, John Glover, Erica Durance and Annette O'Toole, along with Allison Mack's left arm, are all featured in the images.

Well, here they are: the last screen captures of Smallville's fifth season. At least until the season five DVD's are released and I slowly but surely screencap the episodes all over again ...

Without further ado, here are 618 screen captures from 'Vessel'. I haven't quite made up my mind how I feel about the episode; somehow, until the last few minutes, it just didn't really feel like a season finale. And despite the relative lack of spoiler information, I found most of it very predictable. Ah well. At least now that the season is over I can finally take a proper rest.

The season five finale of Smallville, 'Vessel', airs tonight. As always with Smallville's season finales, this is certain to be a huge episode packed with budget-busting action and special effects, along with loud noises that cause me to switch off the audio!

What predicament will our (sometimes) beloved characters find themselves in, and more importantly, how will Clark ultimately deal with it? The questions are the same every year; the answers, not so much ...

As you wait for 'Vessel' to air, why not take another look at the trailers and preview clips, and the official stills from the episode; it's not much, but it may help to tide you over for the next few hours.

And once the episode is over, as always I would love to know what everyone thought! You can leave your thoughts either over on the message board, or down in the comments.

This was going to be a combined post about gallery updates and 'Vessel' previews, but Cindy just beat me to the punch. Still, the gallery updates will hopefully be worthy of their own post. After finally getting hold of a "proper" copy of both Cheaper By The Dozen and Cheaper By The Dozen 2, I spent some time at the weekend taking much higher quality screen captures of Tom Welling's scenes from both movies.

I had only recently uploaded around 450 screen captures from the second film, however there are now 867 of them! I'd also had a couple of requests for captures from Cheaper By The Dozen, and not wanting to disappoint, I've finally added 836 screen captures from it. Unfortunately I've forgotten the name of the visitor who asked for them, but here are captures of Tom in a baseball cap!

I'm sorry about the lack of news recently. Surprisingly, given the upcoming season finale of Smallville, there hasn't been all that much to write about; to cap it all off I've also had a few computer and other issues to contend with! It hasn't been my year ...

A preview clip for this Thursday's season finale of Smallville, 'Vessel', has just been posted up over at TV.com. Be warned that the clip is very spoilery! The preview features Tom Welling as Clark Kent, and John Glover as Lionel Luthor, in a great scene that will hopefully set the tone for the whole episode.

In addition, as always, the WB has also posted up their trailer - and it's possibly the last Smallville episode trailer that the WB will ever post! Smallville, assuming that it's renewed for a sixth season, will air on the new CW Network next fall.

I finally beat James to posting something, which makes me happy since it makes it seem more like I'm actually helping.

Will Thursday come now, please? Unfortunately I don't think it will come sooner just because I want it to ...

Wow, I loved 'Oracle'! Better still, my enjoyment of last night's fresh new Smallville definitely made it much easier – mentally – for me to take the usual screen caps of Tom Welling's scenes. As always you can find those screen captures over in the media gallery. The number of screen captures may also be strangely appropriate, given the subject of the episode: 666. Spooky.

Hmmm ... next Thursday can't come soon enough.

The May 8th - May 14th issue of TV Guide contains a few interesting little tidbits about the upcoming season five finale of Smallville, 'Vessel', which airs on May 11th. Some of the information is a touch spoilery, but I think this segment is safe:

It's the end of the world as Clark knows it when the Hunk of Steel makes a season-finale sacrifice to save his beloved Smallville. Last season went out with a bang, thanks to the spaceship crash and a meteor shower that still has fans talking. This year goes out with more of a scream, as in "Omigod, what just happened to Clark?!"

Hunk of Steel ... I like that. Big thanks go out to Pat for passing along the scan!

It's about time! Sony Pictures has finally announced that The Fog will be released on region 2 DVD in the United Kingdom on June 26th - a full six months later than it was released in region 1 format.

The UK version will almost certainly only be available in its theatrical cut, with a 15 rating. Not that it matters much; there wasn't anything noteworthy in the region 1 unrated version anyway. As long as the DVD is in widescreen – which hasn't been confirmed – I'll be happy.

In other Tom-related news, Yahoo!'s Buzz Log "Unwrap[ped] The Guy Candy" at the weekend, and listed the top searches for shirtless male celebs. Tom seems to be hovering around third and fourth place, which just goes to prove that people are smart.

In addition, last year Tom won in a couple of categories of InStyle's Sexy Poll, the results of which were published in the September issue of the magazine. This year you can once again vote for Tom in a number of categories; the "Sexiest Movie Leading Man", "Sexiest Rising Male Star" and "Sexiest TV Drama Actor" categories are probably appropriate for Tom.

Though I dare say you could write Tom & Jamie in the "Sexiest Famous Couple" category. And Mark in "Sexiest Celebrity Siblings" ... I'm all for familial equality.
